[18:44] <KK> Evie, I found an inexpensive soldier at the local GOodwill--$.95--and bought him.  He may become a Michaeline companion for Joram.  Lots of good joints, but molded-on underwear and a creepy gauntlet-thingie on his left forearm that I can turn into a proper gauntlet, I think.  And a tattoo on his right arm that should disappear with acetone.

[18:52] <Shiral> Simply being there would be dangerous enough for Alaric--drawing attention to himself that way might well have been fatal

[18:52] <@Evie> Well, we wouldn't have the Deryni Rising trilogy if Alaric gets killed before he has a chance to turn 14.

[18:53] <Jerusha> Though I can see the seriousness of challenging the status quo being driven home in a meaningful way
[18:54] <Shiral> Does Brion plant an idea in someone's head that Alaric had BETTER come home safe, if they don't want to make the King Angry
[18:54] <Jerusha> One that makes his resolve more firm

[18:54] <KK> I think Brion makes that clear.
[18:55] <Shiral> I should hope so. Although there would be quite a lot of opportunities for "Accidents" to befall Alaric on the way.

[19:30] <Aerlys> Nice thing about school uniforms is that I can pretty much pass the clothes down to the next one, and but what is worn out online

[19:31] <@Evie> I tend to draft on the body, KK, so I just measured how wide the fabric would have to be for one leg if I folded it in half along the side of the leg and the edges came to the center front and back (plus seam allowance), and then I cut out a shallow curve for the inseam.  I do have a paper pattern somewhere, but it was developed by trial and error from fitting on the body.
