Contrary to popular belief I don't always get good rolls. And sometimes the Torenthi dice are not in favor of the Torenthi's.

Unless they start doing an actual autopsy, don't write him off as dead just yet. Bad dice rolls only decide the final outcome if it's that final outcome you just rolled for. I don't see this stroke of bad luck as a sign of the inevitability of Airich's death. I see it as setting up the perfect dramatically appropriate moment for some hero(ine) to swoop in and save the day. Such high stakes would make that sort of reversal of fortunes all the more rewarding if it happens.

I am hoping some way will be found to get Wash there in time to save Airich. Maybe there is a closer, hidden portal known to the bishop who will let them use it. I have all my fingers crossed.

I wanted to add a post script that Nezz and I wrote this the other night and it set us both off terribly and then Revanne added an important detail that made us even more emotional. 
Yet I did not add the post script on the scene because I felt it would have pulled away from the emotions.  So I am mentioning it here.
