He is a young novice from up country and here he returns in the company of a student previously known for drunken brawling even if he did seem to have turned over a new leaf.

Canon Damien is a good man who sees himself "in loco parentis" for the young men in his care.

More twists than a pretzel. I was disappointed in Kelson, at least in the beginning. He was rather cold and not considering anyone else's feelings.  Wonder what Celsie will say about this. Also wonder what Wash's feelings will be. This is after the mother of his son altho he knew nothing about it. More tangles.

I wonder if they will learn that, if not for Amy, Wash might have been lost. He was close to death in that dungeon. And she also played an important role in the effort to heal Airich's mind. Also I wonder how the prospective bride feels about all this. We haven't really heard much about her. Lots of intriguing issues here.
