Being royal certainly does not increase one's chances of a happy marriage since reasons of state outweigh love as the foundation of the union. We don't really know Miranda's thoughts about her marriage. She doesn't appear to be actively unhappy but I wonder, if the Hort were to die, would she be allowed to marry for love?

I can't go into this too much since that's at the heart of what Miranda's story would be about if I manage to complete it, but generally speaking a widow would have greater freedom to choose whether or not she wishes to remarry, though if she is also a queen and the mother of the heir, those factors might also play some part in her decision-making.
