just this past week. Would fit nicely on my desk and it had the room to
hold all of my video editing windows.

you're gonna dream.... get two! Side by side! <g>
[17:35] <KK> Big is good, but for word processing, you won't want the
type <too> big, because you actually have to turn your head to scan the
lines.

[17:35] <the_Bee> except I accidentally uninstalled some 'DLLs I need

advice on how to get them back...but, alas i don't know
[17:36] <KK> I did discover how to considerably enhance the screen
quality on my laptop, by setting the page to full screen rather than
100%. But on my flat screen, that's too big.
[17:36] <TerryOBrien> Don't ahve the room for that. Need the space to
the side for other material, like reference material.
[17:36] <the_Bee> My guru said I'd have to reinstall Windows

[17:37] <KK> Re writing, I got <lots> done this past week. We're now
just about up to the time when Donal dies.

sites (there are several) and download the lot, then move them into
C:\Windows\System32 as a batch in Safe Mode...when you reboot into
normal mode, it'll all work.

Nicholas, and Sasha--and then, after they'd come back out, Tillie came
down for a while. THey thought it was very strange, had never been
down there before. (Well, Edgar had, but not lately.)

[17:42] <KK> Haven't gotten that far. We just Named Alaric--and Donal
now knows about Vera, though he's promised that her secret is safe with
him.
[17:43] <Shiral> Ooooooo, I've been curious about that naming ceremony
for YEARS!

[17:43] <KK> What did Rowena do?
[17:43] <the_Bee> Who else knows about Vera? You told me oncw she
didn't tell Jared
[17:43] <Martine> It was SO hot here that even with central air, Arwen
went to the basement to lie on the cold cement slab. Rowena came down
and started her "I'm gonna chase you" posturing.
[17:43] <Martine> Arwen was so hot and relaxed that she just twitched
her tail and gave Rowena a look that spoke VOLUMES. <g>
[17:44] <KK> The ceremony required some reworking, because the original
version had Donal as his father. But of course, as I got to know
Kenneth in ITKS, I couldn't let him be cuckolded.

[17:44] <Martine> As in "Try it, punk. I'll rip your furry legs off and
feed them to the humans"

attention from John, who was working down there.

I wasn't bound to that when I was doing ITKS.

that Donal does during the naming ceremony.

sometimes sections need extra work
[17:47] <KK> Some parts of some stories require more rewrites than
others. Sometimes, if you're lucky, a scene just flows and requires
very little polishing, but others fight for every word.

listening to the characters less difficult to write, though edits can
be a pain.

heal/recover from an earlier rape experience.

either--I started a little fanfic, which grow out of bounds, and then
Yoshi showed up

[17:52] <babayaga> once Yoshi showed up, I was done for

happen!

[17:52] <KK> Lately, I work from a timeline rather than a plotline as
such. It seems to work just as well, if not better.

[17:52] <Martine> I have a two-page timeline I'm working from.
[17:53] <TerryOBrien> Sometimes, a character can take over a story.
[17:53] <Mistyck> well, you've set up the Deryni world so wonderfully,
Katherine, I'd imagine it would work better with the timeline
[17:53] <babayaga> TerryOBrien, he didn't take over the story, but he
sure showed me that I wasn't In Control
[17:53] <KK> Often, the timeline will suggest a plot twist.
[17:54] <Mistyck> makes sense
[17:54] <Martine> Or give you the freedom to rework a setup/motive when
the original idea doens't work so well.
[17:54] <the_Bee> as in someone is scheduled to die and you need to
figure out how?
[17:54] <Martine> Without really messing up the rest of the timeline

[17:55] <KK> I find that it's often a process of layering, too. I'm
about to the point where I need to go back and layer in what the CC is
doing, and also the nasty bishops. And Jamyl Arilan has just shown up
as a shiny new knight, with his uncle to mentor him at court--and
report back to the CC.
[17:55] <Martine> I'm sure Katherine's got more ways to do in Donal at
this point!
