Chat Challenge

I am officially issuing a challenge to every member of this community. No mater how long you have been here since the early days even before this site came online or have just joined or maybe you have yet to join.

Our oldest chat log dates back to January 18th 2001. At this time Katherine Kurtz was still very much living in Ireland at Hollybrooke. That is the official start of having online chats between KK and us, her fans.

2026 marks TWENTY-FIVE years of chatting with our beloved Queen of Stories.

And, January 18th will be a Sunday. So on January 18th, 2026. I want to look at the membership total of Rhemuthcastle.com and see that many people in chat.

You can come through our IRC link or through Discord, either way is totally up to you. But come through and be there to celebrate 25 years of chatting with Katherine and to rise to this challenge.

Of course you can get ahead start and come to the chats every Sunday before then too or any time of day or night. Someone is usually around.

The Kiwi webchat is less scary. And doesn't require registration and claiming your account like Discord does. Just enter your desired nickname and connect.

Though Discord was a game changer for me being in the UK because I can catch up on chat I have missed being generally in bed when most people are chatting.

I, for one, highly recommend the Discord version of chat. Revanne gives an excellent reason. Another is the fact that you can see more than just one channels on the server.

(And despite Bynw's words, there is nothing at all scary about Discord.)

I'll try but will be the day before first week of semester 2 - which means I will need to be in university ready to teach at 0930 UK time. So it depends on timing for me .... going to try and make some chats but given fact my son's school drop is 0800 UK time you can see why it isn't a common occurrence.

Zoom chat is 8pm our time, Gilreth, on the first Sunday in each month. 
Sadly I don't usually make regular chat either unless the insomnimonster comes a-calling.
